The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) intends to procure and implement videoconference system to bolster the capabilities of the Instituto de Meteorología de Cuba (INSMET, Cuba). The data and information communication systems between INSMET headquarters, its provincial forecast offices, and its surface station and meteorological radar control offices are facing difficulties in ensuring the flow of information and communications. This is due to the lack of up-to-date IT and communications equipment (info-communications). To improve the coordinated production of meteorological services between INSMET headquarters and its offices nationwide, an update of the info-communications system is planned through financial support from the CREWS ASW project in Cuba, managed by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
