Provision of capacity building activities for child protection implementing partners

ProcureProcess - UNICEF Others Non Governmental 2025-06-12 to 2025-07-05
Since 2021, UNICEF Syria in collaboration with Ministry of Social affairs and Labour (MoSAL) and Syrian commission for Family and population (SCFAP) has developed and rolled out two key programmatic tools: the National Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Manual and the National Parenting Manual. These manuals were designed to guide the implementation of structured interventions aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of children, caregivers, and communities across Syria. In 2021, 2022 and 2023, UNICEF and its implementing partners delivered extensive training and training of trainers TOTs to frontline workers, facilitators, and partner staff to ensure effective and consistent use of both manuals. In 2024, UNICEF conducted a comprehensive review process to assess the implementation experiences and identify areas for improvement. Based on feedback from field practitioners and implementing partners, some adjustments were made to both manuals and their monitoring and evaluation tools with the aim of improving the quality, consistency, and harmonization of implementation across all areas of operation. As a result, there is a need to train UNICEF partners, government counterparts, and child protection sector actors on the updated manuals and their monitoring and evaluation tools. This is essential to ensure coherent application of the manuals and to strengthen the quality of Mental Health Psychosocial Support and Parenting programming across the country. This is particularly critical for government partners, especially in light of the recent political transition and the increased openness of the new government to institutionalizing the manuals within public systems and services.
