RFQ/GRACE/2604/18 - Procurement of Demining RobotsSri Lanka’s Northern and Eastern Provinces remain affected by landmine and unexploded ordnance (UXO) contamination, posing continued risks to communities, livelihoods, and recovery processes in post-conflict areas. Under the National Mine Action Completion Strategy (2023–2027), the National Mine Action Centre (NMAC), with support from UNDP, is working toward achieving a mine-free Sri Lanka by 2028; however, newly identified hazardous areas, complex terrain, funding constraints, and climate-related disruptions such as flooding and soil erosion have increased operational challenges and safety risks for deminers.
