Dear Bidder, The International Labour Office (ILO) is looking for an individual to undertake work as an External Collaborator. The purpose of this assignment is to undertake a qualitative study on access to grievance-handling and labour dispute resolution mechanisms for platform workers in Nepal, focusing on workers engaged in transport, food delivery, and logistics services in Kathmandu and Pokhara. The external collaborator will conduct a desk review of relevant literature, policies, legal frameworks, and ILO resources; map existing grievance-handling and dispute resolution mechanisms; and undertake qualitative field research through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) with platform workers and other key stakeholders. The study will assess the accessibility, effectiveness, strengths, and limitations of existing mechanisms, examine the role of platform governance and algorithmic management in shaping grievances, and identify barriers, challenges, and good practices. Gender-responsive and intersectional approaches will be applied throughout the research process. The assignment will produce evidence-based findings and practical recommendations to strengthen fair, transparent, and accessible grievance-handling and labour dispute resolution systems for platform workers in Nepal. If you are interested, please express your interest and follow the instructions attached to consult the detailed terms of reference and other relevant information in the ILO e-sourcing platform. Please submit your proposal before the specified deadline. Thank you.
