The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is the agency of the United Nations mandated to advocate for the protection of children’s rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential.  Guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child UNICEF strives to establish children’s rights as international standards of behaviour towards children.  UNICEF’s role is to mobilise political will and material resources to help countries ensure a “first call for children”.  UNICEF is committed to ensuring special protection for the most disadvantaged children.   UNICEF carries out its work through its headquarters, regional offices country offices word wide. UNICEF Syria Office as part of this global organization is responsible for overseeing UNICEF's Local and International procurement and logistics operations in Syria. Its main office is in Damascus, East Mazzeh, Shafie Street, Building # 2, in addition to sub-offices in: Homs, Aleppo, Tartous and Qamishli. UNICEF has a requirement for the provision of customs clearance; handling and delivery (transportation) services for incoming and outgoing air, sea and road-freight shipments on Long Term Agreement (LTA) basis; primarily goods sourced outside Syria from the port of entry to UNICEF’s designated place of final destination or place of delivery in accordance with the scope of work.   UNICEF wishes to enter into Long Term Agreement with one or more suppliers for provision of customs clearance, handling and transportation and shipping of food, non-food items and cold chain supplies. UNICEF Syria Country Office will award a Long-Term Agreement (LTA) to the best technical and financial offer for a period of 24 months valid from October 2025 with an option for an extension for up 12 months, all subject to satisfactory performance and evaluation of the Contractor and UNICEF’s requirements for the provision of the services. Individual service contracts will be issued based on the LTA. Any resulting LTAs shall be non-exclusive i.e. UNICEF has the right to hold more than one LTA for the same services.
