United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) hereby invite qualified companies to submit sealed tenders as follows: Rehabilitation of Dar Al-Butmah traditional in Battir, Bethlehem, Palestine using traditional techniques in line with international cultural heritage rehabilitation standards. The proposed work includes restoration of the interior spaces exterior facades including cleaning, replastering, repointing using lime mortar, retiling where needed and installing new electrical, mechanical and communication systems as well as the rehabilitation of the wood and steel doors and windows. A new structure serving as a hall and exhibition space will be constructed adjacent to the traditional building to accommodate 50 visitors, the total surface area of the two buildings is around 250 m². In addition, the new structure will provide a kitchen space and toilets. The roofs of both the traditional and new buildings will be adapted for use as a viewpoint overlooking the surrounding cultural landscape. Finishing works include also installation of new lighting fixtures and sanitary appliances. The site’s landscape will be also reorganized to facilitate access for visitors and to provide outdoor sitting areas. Please refer to attached Procurement Notice.
