Strengthening the capacity of targeted outer island communities in Kiribati to empowered with knowledge and tools to take adaptive actions in reducing climate change-sensitive health risk

ProcureProcess - WHO Kiribati Non Governmental 2025-02-05 to 2025-02-28
Every community should have the pathways and resources it needs to address emerging environmental challenges, enabling members to thrive and be healthy. Truly effective climate action requires local engagement that addresses the interconnected issues of health and equity. Through innovative, community-driven approaches, islands and communities are taking decisive action to confront the health and equity impacts of climate change. Building on health promotion and the “healthy islands” settings approach, the Te Mamauri community engagement model emphasizes developing personal skills, strengthening community action, creating supportive environments, building healthy public policy, and reorienting health systems. Communities must be well engaged in Climate Change and Health to ensure sustainability and lasting impact.   This project is facilitated by WHO under the Te Mamauri Project - Making Health Adaptation for the Future Resilient Islands - Kiribati Outer Islands for Climate Health Action supported by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).   The contractor will be responsible for assisting the Te Mamauri Project in implementing and monitoring its project work plan Outcome 4. Communities are engaged and empowered with knowledge and tools to take adaptive actions to reduce the health risks of climate change.   The Te Mamauri Project will provide guidance on the selection of communities, assessment forms and training materials to standardize the delivery to communities. A trainer’s workshop will be organized for the selected contractor.   Please use Tender Notice No. 258675 as subject to all submission. Only successful candidates will be contacted. Please refer to attached RFP for details of the requirement.
